Sala Humanitarian Club: 15 years of spreading love and igniting hope in Tuyen Quang

On the occasion of its 15th founding anniversary, the Sala Humanitarian Club organized medical examinations, surgeries, and the construction of a new school site to help residents in remote and isolated areas of Tuyen Quang province.

From December 5-7, the Sala Humanitarian Club deployed large-scale charitable programs in Chiem Hoa, Tuyen Quang province, to celebrate its 15th anniversary (2010-2025).
The focus of the program consisted of two main activities: humanitarian examinations and surgeries for underprivileged patients in Chiem Hoa, alongside the inauguration of a new school site in Kien Thiet commune, contributing to the improvement of learning conditions for ethnic minority children.
During the three days at the Chiem Hoa Regional Medical Center, the team of doctors from the Sala Humanitarian Club collaborated with local medical staff to conduct screenings and surgeries for the residents. A total of nearly 100 cases were screened, among whom nearly 20 patients with complex congenital malformations or musculoskeletal sequelae underwent surgery and medical intervention.
Dr. Ha Van Linh, Director of the Chiem Hoa Regional Medical Center, shared that the program not only healed illnesses for many residents but also brought new faith and hope to people in remote, isolated, and ethnic minority areas facing financial and transportation difficulties.

Associate Professor Nguyen Manh Khanh, Deputy Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, President of the Sala Humanitarian Club, and President of the Vietnamese Orthopaedic Association, stated that the club's activities serve as an expression of gratitude to ethnic minority communities who sheltered the medical sector during the arduous years of resistance, and aim to further improve the quality of treatment for people in remote areas.
Alongside the medical examination program, the delegation organized the inauguration ceremony of the Khau Luong-Khau Lang school site in Kien Thiet commune. The project comprises two well-equipped classrooms, built entirely from mobilized social resources contributed by club members and benefactors on a 2,000 square meter plot of land donated by a local household.
The construction of the new school site is not merely about erecting classrooms, but holds profound significance in Sala's journey: from healing physical bodies to supporting knowledge, sharing the burden of educational facility shortages in highland regions over many years. A new school site means more doors opening for highland children, giving them the opportunity to rise above their circumstances.

Mr. Le Hong Viet, Chairman of the Kien Thiet Commune People's Committee, stated that the commune is exceptionally disadvantaged with deficient school facilities. This project is immensely meaningful, not only providing teachers and students with a better teaching and learning environment but also contributing to the infrastructure criteria in developing new rural areas.
Associate Professor Nguyen Manh Khanh emphasized that over 15 years, thousands of patients have been examined, treated, and operated on locally or transferred to Viet Duc Hospital for advanced intervention. Each healed case not only restores a better quality of life for the patient but also opens up opportunities for special social integration for disadvantaged individuals in remote, highland, and border regions. These efforts by Sala have been recognized by patients' families, the community, and health authorities at all levels./.
